The Diet Solution Too Good to be True?

Everyone hopes to find a fast, easy way to shed unwanted pounds. Unlike so many diets and fitness programs, fast and easy is not The Diet Solution’s claim to fame. The diet was the genesis of Isabel De Los Rios. De Los Rios is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and author of the book The Diet Solution Program.

The premise of the diet solution is:

  • No calorie counting, in fact, one must eat a lot of calories to lose weight
  • Carbs are our friends
  • Health foods, like whole grains, cause the body to store fat
  • Weight will come off at a slow but steady rate

This diet is based on the belief that sugar is what makes us fat. We all know this, right? However, De Los Rios believes that our bodies turn even good foods, like whole grains, into sugar. This causes problems with our insulin and blood sugar, making us hungry and more likely to over-eat.
