Will You Ever Eat Regular Food Again? The Jenny Craig Plan

Friday, April 15th, 2011

Diet plans like Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, and Seattle Sutton require that you use their food to begin your weight loss journey. While some people may need that structure to eat healthy foods, it does little to educate the person on how to have a healthy diet.

The daily menus are planned out so you are eating three of Jenny’s entrees and one of the snacks. The rest of the food on the menu you have to buy and will consist mainly of fruits, vegetables, dairy and grains.

When you get half way to your goal, you are introduced to making healthy choices for meals. That could be a long time for some, and may never come for others. People who drop from the program will have learned nothing but how to buy prepackaged meals.

The plan would be better if the education regarding healthy food choices began from day one. While it may not make Jenny as much money as keeping dieters tied to the program, it would certainly be better for the consumers in the long run.
